A Trip to Tokyo
The City Works recently took a trip to Tokyo to visit many different areas of the city while also attending the trade show ‘Rooms’.
A trip to Tokyo is a trip like no other. The city sprawls in every direction as far as the eye can see. Whether you find yourself on top of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building or gazing up from the Shibuya crossing, every sight is a memory. Every Japanese sign, every flashing light, every blossom tree, all of them, little works of art.
The City Works took a trip to Tokyo in February 2020. We attended the trade show ‘Rooms’ alongside our partner in Japan, Paper Tree. Located at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium, the show was celebrating it’s 20th year, and exhibited a host of exciting designer brands.
At the show, we debuted a new range of prototype items. This includes a range of cotton paper postcards, a limited edition gold foil print and a Washi Paper tea canister.
During our trip, we also made room for a little sight-seeing. We took our Tokyo items and photographed them in front of many famous landmarks, including the Tokyo Tower, and the Senso-Ji temple.
We also visited a handful of lovely shops including Itoya and Delfonics, and took a trip to Tokyo’s many post offices to send one of our Tokyo postcards back to our office in Vienna.
It was amazing to experience Tokyo first hand. Visit our ‘Tokyo’ highlights on our Instagram for an even closer look at our travels.
