Welcome to the ‘The City Works’. Throughout the following Terms & Conditions the terms ‘The City Works’ shall be referred to herein as ‘The Company’. Any use of “our”, “we” and “us” refer to ‘The City Works’, a brand by Sylvia Moritz and Rowan Ottesen. The City Works is a trading name of Starlingson OG, a Vienna-based partnership from the same founders. Starlingson OG is registered to Rokitanskygasse 7/48, 1170, Vienna, Austria, with company number 448129P and VAT number ATU70658978 in Austria.
Please be aware that by using this website and purchasing ‘The Company’s’ products, you are agreeing to be automatically bound by the following Terms & Conditions as listed below.
We reserve the right to change, add, or remove parts of these Terms & Conditions at any moment, without prior notice. Continued use of this website following any changes to our Terms & Conditions will still mean that you accept those changes, so we suggest you check back periodically. We may notify you via email if any significant amendments are made to the majority of these Terms & Conditions.
We believe the following Terms & Conditions are fair and of a professional and acceptable standard. However, if you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, we recommend you discontinue viewing this site and to not purchase products from ‘The Company’.
‘The Company’ is a brand created by Sylvia Moritz and Rowan Ottesen on April 1st 2015. It is a trading name of Starlingson OG, a Vienna based Graphic Design Partnership formed by Sylvia Moritz and Rowan Ottesen. The entirety of this website, and every product available on this website is designed by and is property of Starlingson OG.
Every product made by ‘The Company’, both on this website or in our official Stockists is produced by ‘The Company’ and is entirely and indefinitely the property of and copyright of ‘The Company’ ‘Starlingson OG’ and Sylvia Moritz.
Every purchase from ‘The Company’ is of an authorised physical copy (or copies) of an original design, and is not purchase of copyright for that original design. Strictly under no circumstances can a product be purchased with a view to reproducing it in any way.
All photography on ‘The Company’s’ website is property and copyright of ‘The Company’ ‘Starlingson OG’ and Sylvia Moritz. If you wish to use any of these photographs for promotional purposes, prior written permission must be provided from Sylvia Moritz or Rowan Ottesen of ‘The Company’.
Any item displayed on this website does not knowingly violate any copyright of other artists. All illustrations created by or on behalf of The Company are artistic interpretations of city skylines and do not intend nor suggest that any visual is an accurate representation of any place or area. Any likeness to any existing intellectual property is coincidental and unintended.
‘Paypal’ and ‘Stripe’ are the only two methods in which payments from our online store are taken. Wholesale orders are unavailable through this website, and you must contact us if you wish to make a wholesale order. When taken to the PayPal payment screen, you have the option to pay with a credit/debit card, via PayPal, without needing to create a Paypal account. Stripe will usually load a light-box in which to fill out your card or Apple Pay information. ‘The Company’ doesn’t receive any of your confidential information, and will only receive a list of what you ordered, contact information, and the billing address.
By purchasing a product from The Company you allow your email address to be added automatically to our mailing list. Our mail-outs are sent approximately once a month and will always provide you with an option to unsubscribe if you no longer wish to continue receiving them.
By purchasing through PayPal and Stripe, you also adhere to their own Terms & Conditions.
Under no circumstances will our liability to a purchaser of products via ‘The Company’ ever exceed the amount paid by the customer for the purchase of products sold to them.
Europe & International Delivery
Intl. Standard Post: 4-5 working days, un-tracked.
Intl. Tracked & Signed: 3-4 working days, tracked.
Christmas time orders may take longer than this due to Post Office & Courier company congestion.
All orders are dispatched from Austria. We dispatch to most European Countries. Please note we do not currently ship private customer orders from our online shop to countries outside of Europe. If you live outside of Europe and would still like to place an online order you can email your enquiry here.
Please note that the list of countries we ship to is constantly subject to change without prior notice. If you are unable to proceed with a purchase it may be because we are not currently dispatching to your chosen delivery country. Please note that we reserve the right to make adjustments to this list without prior notice.
Please understand that delivery times are not a guarantee, and only an estimation. All of our delivery costs are calculated at the checkout. If you receive a customs charge for your order, it is your responsibility to pay those charges. Please note our deliveries do not currently come with tracking numbers. We will mail out your order as soon as payment has been received, and retain the right to withhold your order until payment has been received.
In rare circumstances, an international purchase from this website may be prohibited from being dispatched by EU law. If this is ever the case, we will notify you, won’t process your order, and refund any sums you’ve already paid.

All orders are dispatched from Austria. Please understand that delivery times are not a guarantee, and only an estimation. All of our UK deliveries cost a certain amount dependent on the item and quantity. This is calculated at the checkout. Deliveries are shipped via DHL, DPD, or Hermes, and are accompanied with insurance and tracking. Please note, deliveries may be sent standard mail and may not come with tracking numbers.
We will mail out your order to the address that has been provided as soon as payment has been received, and retain the right to withhold your order until payment has been received. We cannot except any responsibility if the address you provided wasn’t right. Please double check you’ve entered the correct address before placing your order. Under Distance Selling Regulations you are allocated 7 days in which to cancel your order.
During the Christmas season from 1st November – 31st December each year, online orders on our shop will take longer to process and delivery companies will take longer to deliver mail. Please take this into consideration when ordering from The Company.
By agreeing to our terms, The Customer understands that any orders they place with The Company, within ten days, or less, before Christmas Day (December 25th) of each year, may arrive to their intended address after Christmas Day.
If a private customer is generally unhappy with their purchase, and it isn’t damaged, the item(s) can be returned within 28 days. Please note that ‘The Company’ will only cover return postage costs on damaged item(s), and only refund original delivery costs on damaged item(s).
A damaged item can only be returned at the request of ‘The Company.’ The postage of a damaged item, once returned successfully, will be refunded up to the value of 50% of the total order amount. When returning an item, the customer must retain proof of postage, as they hold responsibility for returning the item back to ‘The Company’.
As many items sold by ‘The Company’ are recyclable, ‘The Company’ may request damaged items be recycled responsibly by the customer instead of being returned.
Most of The Company’s products are packaged in waterproof sleeves, and heavy-duty kraft cases, with all our art prints sold unframed in poster tubes.
We’ve done all we can to defend against handling in the delivery process, but if a product is damaged upon receipt, please email a photograph with the damage clearly visible to firstname.lastname@example.org and stipulate whether you would like a refund or a replacement order. We’ll assess the damage and determine if it warrants a refund or replacement order, and contact you with our decision.
Damaged packaging does not count as a damaged product, and only if the contents are damaged will a refund assessment be made. Because of inconsistencies in screen displays, we will not refund or return a product on the basis of minor colour variations or differences.
Coupons and Discounts
Occasionally the Company may offer, provide or publish coupons or discounts (herein known as ‘codes’). These codes can be used only on the online shop of The City Works (www.thecity.works/shop) and are not able to be used in any of The City Works’ stockists, direct retail destinations or secondary online retailers.
Any code published by the Company may expire or no longer be valid at any time without prior notification. By agreeing to these terms, any customer using a code published by the Company accepts the Company does not accept responsibility for any codes that are faulty or expired.
Customers also note that some codes may only apply to non-sale items, and as such, no discount will be applied to items marked as ‘on sale’ or the like.
Codes may also be limited to the number of times they can be used, and the number of times and individual user can use them.
The City Works reserves the right to cancel and/or refund any order that may have used a coupon that has been created in error.
‘The Company’ is not liable for any damages of any kind that arise from using this site, and are not liable for any damages, physical or financial, incurred by either the purchase or usage of our products.
‘The Company’s’ staff will not tolerate any physical or verbal abuse and reserve the right to refuse to serve a customer and terminate a sale if they deem a customer to be abusive or insulting in their nature. By engaging with ‘The Company’ you agree to be polite, respectful and to not make any demands upon our staff that exceed the normal line of duty.
